Curd Rice/Mosaranna
Ingredients:
Rice (uncooked) 1 cup
Plain yogurt/curd 1 cup
Fresh Grapes ¼ - ½ cup
Pomegranate 2-3 tsp
Dry red chillies 2-3
Ginger finely chopped ¼ inch
Curry leaves
Urad dal ¼ tsp
Mustard seeds ¼ tsp
Asafoetida pinch
Water
Oil/Ghee 1 tsp
Salt
Method:
1. Pressure cook the rice and bring it to room temperature.
2. In a large bowl combine cooked rice, yogurt and salt. Mix well. (You can also add some water). Add chopped ginger, fresh grapes and pomegranate. Mix well. Keep aside.
3. Heat oil in a frying pan, add mustard seeds when it starts popping add urad dal , dry red chillies, curry leaves and asafoetida. Switch off the stove and pour this into curd rice. Mix well.
4. Serve the curd rice with pickle.
