Mushroom Curry



Ingredients:

Mushroom ¼ kg
Chopped onion 1 cup
Grated coconut 1-2 cups
Chopped Tomato ½ cup
Chopped Capsicum ½ cup
Garlic cloves 4-5
Minced ginger 1 tsp
Green Chillies 4
Tamarind paste ¼ tsp
Cinnamon ½” stick
Cloves 2
Peppercorns ½ tsp
Chopped Coriander leaves ½ cup
Fenugreek/Methi seeds ¼ tsp
Cumin seeds ¼ tsp
Oma/Carom seeds ¼ tsp
Mustard ¼ tsp
Turmeric powder ¼ tsp
Chilli powder ½ tsp
Coriander powder 1 tsp
Salt
Butter
Oil

Method:

1. Wash the mushrooms and cut into 2 to 4 pieces. Keep aside.

2. Heat oil in a frying pan and add mustard, cumin, oma, cloves, cinnamon, fenugreek, peppercorns one by one and fry them.

3. Add green chillies and fry, add garlic and onions fry them for few minutes. Add grated coconut, chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and chopped coriander leaves. Mix well and fry for 2-3 minutes.

4. Remove from heat and let it cool. After cooling grind them along with tamarind paste, ginger and little water into fine paste.

5. Heat the butter in a pan add chopped mushroom, capsicum, and little salt. Fry them and let it cook for 5 minute in low heat.

6. Add ground paste and tomato mix well. Cover it and let it cook for 10 minutes.

7. This recipe goes well with dosa, rotti, chapati, rice etc.
