Taro Root/ Kesu Gedde Palya



Ingredients:

Taro root/Kesuvina gedde 5-6
Tomato (chopped) 1
Chopped onion 1
Minced Gralic 1-2 tsp
Green chillies 4-5
Turmeric powder ¼ tsp
Curry leaves 1 strand
Chopped cilantro ¼ cup
Cumin seeds ¼ tsp
Carom seeds(Ajwain/Oma) ¼ tsp
Mustard seeds ¼ tsp
Oil
Salt
Lemon juice 1tsp (optional)
Grated coconut 2 tsp (optional)

Method:

1. Wash and cook the taro roots in water for 30 minutes in high flame. Remove the skin and mash it.

2. Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds then add cumin seeds, ajwain, curry leaves, and green chillies. Fry them.

3. Add garlic and onions fry them till golden brown.

4. Add tomatoes, turmeric powder and salt cover the lid and cook them in low heat for few minutes.

5. Now add mashed taro root mix well.

6. Finally add coriander leaves, grated coconut and lemon juice. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes in low heat.

7. This recipe goes well with dosa, chapati, rotti and also with rice.
