Ingredients:
Fish (Salmon) ½ kg
Onion 1 (Finely chopped)
Minced ginger 1 tsp
Minced garlic 1 tsp
Chilli powder 2-3 tsp
Coriander powder ½ tsp
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Fenugreek seeds ¼ tsp
Mustard seeds ¼ tsp
Tamarind lemon size
Coconut oil 2 -3 tsp
Curry leaves 1 strand
Lemon juice 1 tsp
Salt
Method:
1. Wash and cut the fish into medium size pieces. Marinate with salt,
lemon juice, ½ tsp chilli powder and ½ tsp turmeric powder for 30
minutes.
2. Soak the tamarind in water. Keep aside.
3. Make paste of chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder
with little water. Keep aside.
4. Heat coconut oil in a thick bottom pan and add mustard seeds, when
it starts popping add fenugreek seeds and fry, add ginger, garlic,
onion and curry leaves. Fry them till onion turns transparent.
5. Now add chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder paste
(step 3), mix well and fry them for 5 minutes.
6. Add tamarind water (step 2) and salt, mix well. Cook for another 5
minutes.
7. Finally add fish pieces, add little water and cover the lid. Cook
for another 10-15 minutes in low to medium heat.
Fish curry goes well with rice, roti, etc
Note:. Fish curry tastes good when you make it in CLAY POT.
