Togari bele(Pigeon Pea) Chutney



Ingredients:

Togari bele/Toor dal/Pigeon pea 1 cup
Cumin seeds ¼ tsp
Dry red chillies 4-5
Curry leaf 1-2 strand
Tamarind grape size
Coconut (grated) 2-3 tsp
Onion (chopped) ¼ cup
Cilantro (chopped) ¼ cup
Salt

Method:

1. Dry roast Pigeon pea, cumin seeds, dried red chillies and curry leaves separately. Let them cool.

2. Soak tamarind in little water. Extract the juice.

3. Combine all roasted ingredients, tamarind juice, coconut, onion, cilantro, salt and little water in a blender. Blend to smooth paste.

4. Togari chutney is very tasty and it goes well with dosa.

    I did try your recipe for togari bele chutney. We liked it a lot. I just made a slight variation of frying the onions too.
