China Grass OR Agar Agar Halwa




  Agar Agar OR China grass is a plant based gelatinous substance derived from red algae/seaweed.

Ingredients:

Milk 3 cups
Sugar ¾ - 1 cup
China grass 1 cup
Cardamom powder pinch

1. Cut china grass into small pieces. Soak them in 1 cup of milk for 30 minutes     to 1 hr.

2. Heat 2 cups of milk in a vessel. Add soaked china grass and keep stirring till the china grass become soft and transparent. [You can also grind the soaked china grass and then add to the boiling milk]

3. Add sugar, mix well. Let it boil for another 5 minutes on low to medium heat. Add cardamom powder mix well. Switch off the stove.

4. Pour into greased plate (or greased bowl), allow it to cool. Cut into pieces and keep it in refrigerator. Serve chilled.

Note: This sweet taste like Ginnu, a sweet made of Colostrum milk.
