Dandelion (Kadu Shavanthi) greens Tambuli





Ingredients:

Dandelion greens ½ bunch
Yogurt/curd 1 cup
Green chillies 3-4
Grated coconut 2 tsp
Cumin seeds ¼ tsp
Peppercorns 3-4 (optional)
Mustard ¼ tsp
Asafoetida pinch
Butter 1 tsp
Oil ½ tsp
Water


Method:

1. Wash the leaves in salt water and chop them.

2. Heat butter in a frying pan and fry the chopped leaves for 2-3

minutes or till they become soft. Dry roast cumin seeds and sliced
green chillies. Let them cool.

3. Combine fried Dandelion leaves, cumin seeds, green chillies,

peppercorns and grated coconut in a blender. Add little water and
blend till smooth.

4. Take yogurt in a large bowl and pour the paste into the bowl. Add

water and salt. Mix well.

5. Season it with mustard, curry leaves and asafoetida.

6. This tambuli taste slightly bitter but very healthy. It goes well
with rice.
