Water 2 cups
Grated coconut (fresh) ½ cup
Jaggery ½ cup
Cardamom powder ¼ tsp
Salt
Water 2 cups
Grated coconut (fresh) ½ cup
Jaggery ½ cup
Cardamom powder ¼ tsp
Salt
Method:
1. Wash the rice and allow it to dry.
2. Make coarse powder (Rava) out of dried rice - (like
semolina).
3. Take water and jaggery in a vessel and boil it. When the
jaggery melts, filter it.
4. Boil the filtered water along with grated coconut. Add
powdered Rice (rava) and keep stirring for few minutes. Add
pinch of salt and cardamom powder. Mix well.
5. Once the rava gets cooked, remove from heat and transfer
into a large plate. Allow it to cool down.
6. Knead the dough with hands and make single mass. Make
lemon sized balls with wet hands.
7. Put all the balls in a steamer and cook for 20-30
minutes in medium heat.
8. Serve kayi kadabu with ghee.
