Chicken Curry with Coconut



Ingredients:

Chicken 2 cups
Cloves 4
Cinnamom 2" stick
Pepper 1/4 tsp
Ginger minced 11/2 tsp
Garlic 6-7 cloves
2 Large chopped onion
Chopped Green chillies 4
Chilli powder 2tsp/Red chillies 3-4
Coriander powder 2tsp
Grated coconut 1-2 cups
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Tamarind paste 1/2 tsp
Mint 1/2 cup
Poppy seeds ½ tsp
Coriander leaves chopped 1 cup
Salt
Oil

Method:

1. Clean the chicken and marinate it with salt, chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder. Leave it for 1-2 hrs.
2. Heat a spoon of oil in a pan, add cloves, pepper corns, cinnamon, green chillies, ginger, garlic, mint, coriander leaves, coconut, chilli powder, coriander powder one by one and fry them. Fry the poppy seeds separately without oil.
3. Grind the fried masala with tamarind into paste.
4. Heat oil in a pan, add cinnamon, clove, onions fry them and add marinated chicken. Mix well and cook for 5-10 mins till the chicken cooks.
5. Now add the ground masala with some water to it. Mix well and add salt. Cook for another 5-10 mins in medium heat.
