Idli


Ingredients:

Rice 1 cup
Urd dal ½ cup
Fenugreek(methi) 2 tsp
Beaten rice 2 tsp
Boiled rice ¼ cup
Salt
Oil

Method:

1. Soak urd dal, fenugreek, beaten rice and boiled rice in enough water for about 4-5 hours.

2. Soak the rice separately for 4 hrs.

3. Wash the soaked ingredients 2 times.

4. Grind the step 1 ingredients into smooth batter and rice into coarse batter separately.

5. Take both the ground batter in a vessel and mix it well. Keep it overnight for fermentation.

6. Next day morning add salt and mix well. Batter should be medium, not too thick or too watery.

7. Grease the idli plates with oil and add the batter in to it.

8. Keep the idli paltes in cooker or idli maker and cook for 20-30 minutes.

9. Serve hot with sambar and chutney.
