Curry leaf 1 strand

Green Chillies (Optional) 2
Dried Red chillies 2
Turmeric powder ¼ tsp

Method:

1. Soak Black Chana overnight. Pressure cook with little turmeric, salt and water.

2. Soak tamarind and keep aside. Chop onion and green chillies keep aside.

3. Peel the outer skin, discard the skin and innermost part of jackfruit. Wash it
and cut into cubes and chop into very small pieces ( OR use the electric food chopper).

4. Pressure cook the chopped jackfruit with little turmeric, salt and water.

5. Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, when it splutters add green chillies, red
chillies, curry leaves, minced garlic one by one and sauté. Add chopped onions fry
them till transparent.

6. Now add cooked jackfruit and chana. Mix well. Add tamarind water, chilli powder,
coriander powder, grated coconut, mix it and add ½ cup of water. Cook till all the
water dried up.

Note: I prefer Unripe and young Jackfruit for the preparation of this dish. Apply
oil to the knife and hands before cutting the Jackfruit.
