Green Peas Rice



Ingredients:

Basmati/Sona masoori Rice 1 cup
Green peas (frozen) ½ cup
Onion (chopped) 1
Ginger paste ½ tsp
Garlic paste ½ tsp
Green chillies 5-6
Cloves 4-5
Cardamom 1
Cinnamon stick small piece
Aniseed small piece
Black pepper (whole) 1 tsp
Bay leaf 1
Lemon ½
Water 1 + 3/4 cup ( or 2 cups)
Salt
Oil/Ghee 1 Tbsp

Method:

1. Soak rice in water for 10-20 minutes.

2. Chop onion and green chillies.

3. Heat ghee or oil in pressure cooker, add cloves, cinnamon,
cardamom, aniseed, bay leaf
and black pepper one by one.

4. Add green chillies sauté. Add ginger, garlic paste and
onion fry them till
transparent.

5. Add green peas and little salt. Mix well.

6. Now add soaked and washed rice. Mix well.

7. Add one and half cup of water and let the rice cook without
covering the lid.

8. Once the rice half cooked, add lemon juice, little salt and
remaining ¼ - ½ cup
water. Cover the lid and cook
till ONE WHISTLE.

9. Serve green peas rice with raitha.
