Home made Paneer / Indian Cheese

 



Ingredients:

Milk 2 lt or ½ gallon
Lemon 1 or 2

* Muslin Cloth

Method:

1. Take milk in a thick bottomed pan. Let it boil in medium heat and stir it once in a while to avoid sticking at the bottom.

2. Squeeze juice from the lemon.

3. Once the milk boils, pour the lemon juice slowly and keep stirring.

4. Now the milk starts curdling. Switch off the stove and leave it for few minutes.

5. Take a muslin cloth and strain the paneer.

6. Add some cold water (to remove the lemon flavor) over the paneer and squeeze out all the water. Keep some heavy thing on wrapped paneer for 30-40 minutes to remove excess water.

7. Take out the paneer from muslin cloth, place it on a plate. Knead the paneer well to get soft dough.


8. Paneer is ready to use.

Note: If you want harder paneer, keep the heavy thing for long time and then cut into pieces.
